Brush fireplace closes Freeway 330 close to Operating Springs


A brush fireplace that broke out Friday within the San Bernardino Mountains had consumed no less than 50 acres by late afternoon.

The Manzanita fireplace was burning close to Freeway 330 and Forest Highway 1N09, about 9 miles from Operating Springs, San Bernardino Nationwide Forest officers mentioned.

Flames have been spreading quickly, in response to the San Bernardino County Fireplace Safety District.

Firefighters responded round 3:35 p.m. to a report of a vegetation fireplace on the southeastern portion of Keller Peak, the U.S. Forest Service mentioned. Crews are specializing in stopping the blaze’s ahead progress alongside the ridge line.
